More housing, for every dollar, in a fraction of the time.
Our Approach
Housing Impact Collective builds housing across the full spectrum, from emergency shelter to homes for working families, using modular construction that opens in months rather than years and costs a fraction of the conventional price.
The need is outpacing what gets built.
7.1 million — shortage of affordable rental homes for the lowest-income renters, nationwide
1.3 million — affordable homes California alone is short for its lowest-income renters
$726,000 — average cost to build a single affordable unit in California today
Households earning 30 to 60 percent of the area median income- the cooks, caregivers, and retail workers every community depends on- often can't find housing they can afford either. HIC was founded to close both gaps: building differently, not just building more.
